Bible Studies that left the JWs before baptism
by greendawn inmany persons studying with the jws go ahead and get baptised, but many others do not, do you know such ppl and the reasons they gave for stopping contact with the jws?
they did of course the right thing and spared themselves a lot of potential trouble and exploitation in the future.
a person i knew gave up all contact with the dubs after a year of studying with them, because she found them to be too pharisaic they put a lot of demands on the members but don't do anything to help them, like modern day pharisees.

What is spirituality?
by jwfacts inwhat does it mean to be spiritual?
jws do not seem to have very much of it.
they talk reguarly about god, but they can not have a real relationship with jesus, can only approach jehovah through jesus, with the wts somewhere in between and do not believe in the holy spirit as a person.

JWfacts...I really liked your comment... I was a witness for 26 years and left in Sept.
You said: They talk reguarly about God, but they can not have a real relationship with Jesus, can only approach Jehovah through Jesus, with the WTS somewhere in between and do not believe in the Holy Spirit as a person. There are no gifts of the spirit, born again experiences etc.
I agree, how can they be spiritual when, instead of tapping into the holy spirit and Jesus, they have to tap into the governing body for enlightment. I have had a born-again experience and I didn't dare tell a soul but a close friend leaked it to the elders and was really counseled for it. Because as a JW, we are not allowed to have a spiritual experience because it can only be DEMONISM> They would say, the only way to know if you are born-again is : (you just know) How do we just know? (We just know) Ugh....

Theocratic Warfare Strategy - Lies have long been part of the plan.
by unclebruce ing'day fellow liars,
considering themselves to occupy the moral high ground, many jehovah's witnesses are blissfully unaware that the watchtower bible and tract society encourages them to lie.
many would run screaming apostate lies!

G' evening to you, Uncle Bruce...Please be patient with me, I only D'Aed in November...I do think there is alot of dishonest stuff going on. Like the fact, they say they are sooooo different from the Cath. church by calling each other brother....yet the elders, CO's, DO, and GB are treated like Gods and so secretive....So the truth: They are "fathers" "priests" "archbishops" etc. I liked your example of: in 2000, the GB pretending not to be our leaders when they sure the Hell are! There are alot of examples like this in the JW's... Like they tell us to read the bible and use our power of reason, when they sure as heck don't want us to have any interpretation other they give us.... Many more..too.
My point, I made before..Do you think the WT has ever told us Lying is Okay???? Or were they just saying, our enemies don't always deserve to know everything we know..???? What do you think Uncle B.?

This is the context of the WT. '60 June 1, p. 353
There is one exception, however, that the Christian must ever bear in mind. As a soldier of Christ he is in theocratic warfare and he must exercise added caution when dealing with God’s foes. Thus the Scriptures show that for the purpose of protecting the interests of God’s cause, it is proper to hide the truth from God’s enemies. A Scriptural example of this is that of Rahab the harlot. She hid the Israelite spies because of her faith in their God Jehovah. This she did both by her actions and by her lips. That she had Jehovah’s approval in doing so is seen from James’ commendation of her faith.—Josh. 2:4, 5; Jas. 2:25.
This would come under the term "war strategy," as explained in The Watchtower, February 1, 1956, and is in keeping with Jesus’ counsel that when among wolves we must be as "cautious as serpents." Should circumstances require a Christian to take the witness stand and swear to tell the truth, then, if he speaks at all, he must utter the truth. When faced with the alternative of speaking and betraying his brothers or not speaking and being held in contempt of court, the mature Christian will put the welfare of his brothers ahead of his own, remembering Jesus’ words: "No one has greater love than this, that someone should surrender his [life] in behalf of his friends."—Matt. 10:16; John 15:13
I don't think the article is telling us to lie but rather that our enemies, and God's don't deserve to know all the truth, all the time.......What's wrong with that?

Hey, You wrote..:
JW's™ are not: "under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it." Insight on the Scriptures Volume II p. 245.™
Here is the context of that paragraph and quote from the Volume:
'While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligaion to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it. Jesus Christ counseled: "Do not give what is holy to dogs, neither throw your pearls before swine, that they may never trample them under their feet and turn around and rip you open." (Mt 7:6) That is why Jesus on certain occasions refrained from giving full information or direct answers to certain questions when doing so could have brought unnecessary harm (Mt 15:1-6 : 21:23-27: Joh 7:3-10) Eveidently the course of Abraham, Isaac, Rahab, and Elisha in misdirectiing or in withholding full facts from nonworshipers of Jehovah must be viewed in the same light.'
I don't think we are under obligation to devulge information to people who are just going to use it to hurt either ourselves or others...

I think it was God that pulled me out. Nobody was trying to influence me to get out..so I'm waiting for someone to contact me since I D'Aed...I don't feel a big urge to pull people out. Maybe I should???? To answer your question ..a person has to want the truth no matter who they have to lose, and no matter what they have to do to get it.

What made us different?
by Lo-ru-hamah ini am wondering, what made all of us different?
to explain.
obviously most all of us here were at one time brainwashed and endoctrinated with the rest of the rank and file of jw's.

I don't know how I'm different.. But I can tell you..almost 27 years ago, Jehovah brought me close to him through my study of the bible..and then into JW's...
And then he pulled me out...I owe it all to him....and Jesus.

Welcome to the board. Yes most of us are XJW's and some of us are really well read and you can learn alot from them, because they struggled very hard to understand the truth.
I have been a JW since 1979. I left the organization in Sept. 2005, I did start partaking 5 years ago. I know I've been born again . Whether the number is a literal number of 144,000, I don't know... It may not be because 12 x 12 is 144....and 12 is complete. So it could be a complete number. In Rev. 7 it talks of 144,000 being from the 12 tribes of Isreal... I believe the Jews make up a large part of the 144,000. And that JW's make way too little of their favor with God.
I would like to hear from you if you want to send me a message. I'd love to talk more to you. Star
